Just Do It

 My friend and I were dreaming of some adventures we want to have soon. There's a lot to choose from. And we want to do them all. I want to see them all. I want to be in all the places. But we can't possibly do ALL the things. We have to be calculated. We have to make some choices. 

And I could hear my mom. "Just pick something and do it."

I could hear her as we were discussing different options. Many times she tells me this when I am overwhelmed cleaning my house. Or honestly making any decisions. Just pick something and start moving. By doing nothing, you will get nothing. By doing just one thing, you will ultimately get that much more done.

I have many stories from my mom. She loves to read "Dear Abby". One post that I was reminded of today: A wife had found her wedding thank you notes in the trunk of her husbands car... a year after he was supposed to mail them. She asked if it was ok to mail them out a year after the wedding. A late Thank You is always better than no thank you at all. Send your thank you notes. If you are thinking of a friend, give them a call. Compliment a stranger. If you get the urge, don't ignore it. Do the nice thing.... even if its late. Spread Kindness!

The Ones We Love

A long time ago, a friend once listened to me rant on and talk poorly about my (then) husband. As she listened, she gave me a bit of advice that I felt irrelevant to the topic, but very much relevant. She said,  "Don't talk poorly about those that you love." You see, we watch tv and movies and we watch these groups of women go on and on about how horrible their marriages are. For what we manifest in our minds, and say out loud, becomes our reality. That's not to say there won't be problems and issues we need to address and discuss with others. Be careful about the way that you address them. Its Been a Bad Day

Yesterday was a bad day.  It just seemed that every time I tried to follow my plan for the day, I ran into barriers stopping me from completing the task I was on. After many tries to re-route my day, I just couldn't seem to gain any traction. So, I shut it down. It is OK to take a day off. It is OK to not be ok.  It is OK to try again tomorrow. I went to bed early and got a good night of sleep. Today is a new day and a new opportunity to accomplish the things I need to do.
